CrabAppleLane's Super Bowl XVI prediction

Indianapolis Colts 23 - Chicago Bears 20

Bet any more than a penny on it at your own peril. I'll be rooting ever so slightly for the Colts today but I think it's going to be a tough, tough game and I won't be brokenhearted if the Bears win. Normally, I’m an NFC man. We have mitigating factors this year, though. The AFC’s Colts are loaded with Louisiana boys. Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai, and Brandon Stokely are players that I know grew up here and played ball here in high school or college. The Mannings are New Orleans royalty. They have been magnificent ambassadors for New Orleans and Louisiana for nearly 40 years. I can't root against them ... unless they were playing against the Saints.

CrabAppleLane’s servers underwent an upgrade last night. I got an email from CrabAppleLane’s host about an hour before it was to begin. That was the only warning. Part of the upgrade involved rebooting the server. Hopefully, some of the issues here (Way Too Many Internal Server Errors) will be resolved or at least alleviated. So far this morning, so good. everything seems to be working better and faster and they're have been no errors (I like to tempt fate).

On this Super Sunday, CrabAppleLane has returned to their tax returns. I went all the way through the TurboTax Online process up to the part where they collect their fees. I did not want to file my Louisiana State return through them. Louisiana’s website for filing is better than TurboTax’s and it’s free. Unfortunately, TurboTax wouldn’t let me. They wanted to charge me for both returns ($29.95 for the Feds and $25.95 for Louisiana). Too much. I can do the Federal return by hand in about an hour and Louisiana’s only takes about two minutes. Lesson learned.

I offer two from the front yard on this CrabAppleLane Super Sunday:

Red Red Robin

He was bob-bob-bobbing along and I think he was toying with me. He lined up and posed a few times for some pretty cool shots. As soon as I focused on him, he moved along. Then the sun went behind the clouds and this was as good as I was going to get.

Camellia: Gift from my sister

Almost lost this camellia about 10 years ago to drought and neglect. It was a gift from my horticulturist sister. Would have been a shame. Love the blooms.

Quote from said blog: "It's good to know someone was in bed at a normal hour in Miami last night. Everyone else and their mother were out and about going insane."

The Colts? Oh, right; it's a football game. :-)

Me, I only watch it for the commercials.

I watched bits of the second half and muted all of the commercials. Not a typical Super Sunday for me but I just wasn't fired up for it this year.
